About the EBVMA and this site

Learn more about the new site and how you can participate

The Evidenced-Based Veterinary Medicine Association (EBVMA) is a non-profit [501(c)(3), United States] professional organization with an international scope. It was founded to better organize the emerging research, training and practice of evidence-based medicine. Evidence-based veterinary medicine is the formal strategy to integrate the best research evidence available combined with clinical expertise as well as the unique needs or wishes of each client in clinical practice. Much of this is based on results from research studies that have been critically-designed and statistically evaluated.

The EBVMA was founded in 2004 with a web-presence soon after inception. In November 2009, this site was updated to better take advantage of online resources, including the implementation of content syndication, decision-support tools, rich media for education and training as well as the opportunity to offer EBVMA members the ability to contribute or share with the balance of the community. New content, especially profiles and blogs, educational materials and online discussions will be largely contributed by the EBVMA member community.

This new content as well as new features will emerge over the coming months (late 2009 to early 2010). You may subscribe to site updates using RSS and your favorite news reader or follow us on Twitter @ebvma. Please contact the EBVMA officers for questions or concerns about the organization in general. New members may contact. Dr. Roy Montgomery directly or see our membership page for more information. If you have questions, suggestions or feedback about the site, please contact either Kate Anderson or Stuart Turner. For general questions, you may use our contact form as well.
